Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 13, 2026  |  pixel2.ca

Pixel2 Consulting ("Pixel2", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under Canadian privacy law — including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

1. About Us

Pixel2 Consulting
Website: pixel2.ca
Privacy contact: privacy@pixel2.ca

We are an AI consulting firm serving Canadian and international businesses. We are subject to PIPEDA as our primary privacy statute.

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information only when you voluntarily provide it or when it is automatically generated by your use of our website.

Information you provide via our contact form:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Company name
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Message content

Information collected automatically:

  • Pages visited, time on site, referring URL (via Google Analytics)
  • Browser type, device type, and approximate geographic region
  • Interaction signals (clicks, scroll depth) used to improve user experience

We do not collect sensitive personal information (such as health data, financial account numbers, or government ID numbers).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information only for the purposes identified at the time of collection or as reasonably consistent with those purposes:

  • To respond to your inquiry and provide the consulting services you requested
  • To follow up on a consultation booking or service discussion
  • To send commercial electronic messages where you have provided express or implied consent (see CASL section below)
  • To improve our website content and user experience using aggregated analytics data
  • To protect against spam and abuse via reCAPTCHA verification

We will not use your personal information for purposes that are incompatible with those listed above without obtaining your explicit consent.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

  • Google reCAPTCHA v3 — Used to distinguish human visitors from automated bots on our contact form. Data is processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  • Webhook delivery service — Contact form submissions are routed through an automated webhook to deliver your message to our team securely.
  • Resend (email delivery) — We use Resend to send transactional and follow-up emails from our hello.pixel2.ca domain. Resend processes your email address to deliver messages on our behalf.
  • Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) — Collects anonymized usage data (page views, session duration, referral source). No personally identifiable data is sent to Google Analytics. You can opt out via Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Klaviyo — Used for email list management and marketing automation. If you subscribe to our content, your email address is stored in Klaviyo in accordance with their Privacy Notice.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by applicable law:

  • Contact form submissions — retained for up to 2 years from the date of receipt, then securely deleted.
  • Email marketing lists — retained until you unsubscribe or request removal.
  • Analytics data — retained per Google Analytics' default retention settings (26 months for user-level data). Aggregate statistics may be retained indefinitely.

Once data is no longer required, we will delete it or anonymize it so it can no longer be associated with you.

6. Your Rights Under PIPEDA

As an individual whose personal information we hold, you have the following rights under PIPEDA:

  • Right of access — You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Right of correction — If information we hold is inaccurate or incomplete, you may request that we correct it.
  • Withdrawal of consent — Where our processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
  • Right to complain — You have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@pixel2.ca. We will respond within 30 days of receiving your request.

7. CASL — Commercial Electronic Messages

We comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We only send commercial electronic messages (CEMs) — including newsletters, promotional emails, and service announcements — where we have obtained:

  • Express consent — You explicitly opted in (e.g., by checking a consent checkbox or submitting a subscription form), or
  • Implied consent — You have an existing business relationship with us (e.g., you are a current or recent client or have made an inquiry within the past 2 years).

Every commercial email we send includes:

  • Clear identification of Pixel2 Consulting as the sender
  • Our mailing address or contact information
  • A functioning unsubscribe mechanism

We will honor all unsubscribe requests within 10 business days of receipt. Once you unsubscribe, we will not send you further CEMs unless you provide new consent.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted through our website
  • JWT-signed API requests to prevent unauthorized form submissions
  • Access controls limiting who within Pixel2 can access contact data

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics/GTM) — to understand how visitors interact with our site.
  • Security cookies (Google reCAPTCHA) — to assess whether form submissions are from humans or bots.
  • Marketing cookies (Klaviyo) — to track email engagement and improve communication relevance.

You can disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.

10. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@pixel2.ca and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy
